Migrating from Phrase to locize

locize is the alternative to Phrase.

If you want to migrate your data from Phrase to locize, this following guide will help you with the process.

  1. Download your localization files
  2. You will first need to download your translations from Phrase:
    1. Log into your Phrase account
    2. Select the project you want to migrate by clicking on the project’s name
    3. Click on "Locales"
    4. Download or export the translation files (best is to export as Simple or Nested JSON format, but other formats should work too)
    5. Extract the ZIP
  3. You can download the files also via CLI or API.
  4. Sign up and create a project
  5. If you haven’t done already, you should create your free trial account and create your first project.
  6. Add your desired languages and namespaces.
  7. Import your files
  8. Upload your files via UI, via CLI or via API.
